I am looking for Wireless Broadband and the hardware required.... ;)

Details, how many computers, etc.?

Do you already have broadband or do you need that also. You should maybe leave a little more details so others can help you. What you posted was pretty vague and nondescriptive.

Have a look here and then post what you have and what you are looking for. It explains the difference between all the technologies and tells you what you need to have in order to get wireless connection.

WHAT'S SO VAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!????????????????

WIRELESS BROADBAND is what I need Not Broadband and netwroking...

This is where your Laptop connects to the internet Via a DIGITAL SIGNAL and not to a router or modem on a network :claps:

Not everyone needs to read every post or to answer it ...even an admin

Specially a reply to someone who has been an advertiser on spoofee.com

Sorry I was trying to help, not sure what your problem is. Has anyone responded to your request, no! Why? Because you did not specify what exactly what you were looking for. There are alot of things that are still needed to be known before we can help. I am not sure what you advertising here has anything to do with my response to you.

Do you want wireless A,B, or G?

Does your laptop have built in Wi-Fi, or do you need a wireless card?

Do you already have a wireless router?

What version of windows are your running?

Did you even look at the link I posted for you? It discusses wireless connections. :hmm: :28: :banghead:

Okay, definitely not necessary as we're all trying to help you here.

Also, what Choo has pointed out is absolutely true. Let's just go over what you came back with after you shot Choo down.

Number one, high-speed internet connections and networks are two different things, and both are required for a successful wireless setup, even with one laptop computer.

There is really no such thing as "wireless broadband" unless you're talking about a fixed wireless connection coming into your house, and those connections are pretty rare so I doubt you have one, and I doubt that's what you're talking about. Well, you also could be talking about mobile broadband like GPRS, EDGE, and EV-DO but you don't specify that either. As you can see, your descriptions are fairly vague.

Also, what are you talking about a digital signal? Over a wireless network, the signals are transmitted via the 802.11 protocol, which is similar to a 2.4 GHz cordless phone signal. To connect to your current broadband modem, you will need a wireless router or access point, an access point would do because you just have one machine, but a router will probably be cheaper.

Also, all members are equal here. It doesn't matter whether you support Spoofee or what, but we're all here to try to help you out, and the hostility is definitely not necessary. Us moderators here volunteer to help out and keep the board clean and helpful, so we don't appreciate the disrespect.

Thanks.

Wow, considering that what we (mods & members) do around here is on a volunteer basis, it's great to see how nicely people respond when folks are just trying to help them out.

... and Choo, i don't see why you had to apologize for being a nice guy.

... and Erik, thank you for your helpful information too!

:D :beer_yum: (oops, Erik you'll have to wait a few years for the beer! hee hee!)

As far as I can tell wireless broadband doesn't look like it is going to take off...quite yet.

From Nextel:
Thank you for your interest in Nextel Wireless Broadband. Recruiting efforts for the trial have been completed.
From Sprint:
We are suspending our effort to acquire new residential and commercial Sprint Broadband Direct customers.

If you are a current Sprint Broadband Direct customer, this will not affect you.

-- AND --

Because of limitations with our current generation of fixed wireless technology, we are no longer acquiring new Sprint Broadband Direct customers, nor will we be launching any new markets.
It looks like Verizon has the capability and is still allowing new signups. You'll need their data-only Verizon Wireless PC 5220 card and have to pay nearly $80 per month. Be sure that you are in the right market.

Hahaha...

Yeah, fixed wireless is not that big of a thing, and probably won't be with FiOS and all the new technologies coming.
