Woot Off Going on Now!

Woot off on Tuesday - how odd.

I actually have bought a couple of inexpensive things from the woot offs recently, including a couple of DS games.

Still, there's nothing really that sets Woot apart from other online retailers anymore.

There servers seem to be have a bit of issues. It'll go down and then a min or so later they'll be back.

I agree, I think woot has sunk - their items aren't as cool and their deals aren't as good as they used to be. Not surprising really, because of their popularity. I'm sure they are still raking in the bucks though! $$$

Simultaneous woot-offs! Kids woot, wine woot, woot woot (haven't checked shirt woot yet)... Too much bandwidth! My refresh is going too slow to keep up!

Good call, I didn't see the other woot-offs going on. Wish I could find a woot tracker that would do all 3 sites at once

Wootalyzer can be configured to track all of the woot sites.

What's on woot now?

I'm slightly frustrated. Our router(s) are kaputz. The story of everyone's life, I'm sure, but here I am, married to a Computer IT guy. We have THREE routers piggy-backed one on the other because he has website on a server downstairs and it would take more time to update the server in Linux to use the new routers and so it's just easier when he buys a new computer just to add a new router. Yeah... it's like plugging in 3 Christmas Tree strands on one outlet. I'm waiting for it all to FRY!

In any case... woot is not refreshing very well for me. On Woot, it's still showing the Sansa mp3 player. On Kids woot, the preview box for woot it shows a pink camera and on wine woot it's showing a watch. So what's right?

I'm never going to get a Bandolier of Carrots at this rate....

From a technical point of view, this makes no sense. There's no reason why he shouldn't be able to use one router to route the web traffic to the local IP of the web server downstairs. You don't have to "update the server in Linux to use the new routers." The Linux server doesn't care what kind of router is routing traffic to it. Besides, Linux is more configurable from a network point of view than any other operating system - even a really old Linkux distro. All you have to do is configure the router (as in ONE router) properly. Sounds to me like your husband just likes to tinker with things, and has made the LAN a lot more complicated than it needs to be. This is coming from a guy who has four routers running, just so I can blanket my neighborhood in WiFi for the fun of it, so I know what that's like. Or it could be that he just doesn't know what he's doing, but you say he's an IT guy, so...
