There is a reason this is a refurb drive...and that is because WD drives suck. That is why they only give you a 1 year warranty because they know it will fail.

Great avatar! That movie is awesome. Much better than 'Versus', IMO.

Be aware they only give you a 90 day warranty. There's a reason
why they call it "refurbished".
Usually it has not been opened since these are robotically
assembled in a cleanroom during manufacture and even the
smallest amount of dust on the platters could render them
useless.
They have to call it refurbished because someone before you
bought and opened the sealed package and for some reason
returned it to store/maufacturer.

It lasted until 3PM or so. Im surprised it lasted that long.

Ahh, didn't notice they were refubished with a crappy warranty. Also, 2MB cache isn't great.

hmm i always thought WD was one of the better manufacturers.

who knows, my maxtors seem to last half as long as my western digital drives.
then theres the arguement of what power supply you have pushing them.

fwiw, i picked up the 160gig seagate this weekend at bestbuy.
it took less then 60 seconds to format & partition the hd in windows 2000 with their software. :bigok:

I wouldn't buy anything from WOOT, they suck on returns and customer service.

I buy from woot a lot. They are awesome as far as Im concerned. I bought a two pack item from them and one was broken. They let me ship back the one that was damaged at their expense and credited me with half of my money back. They are fair and good. imo.
