Just wanted to drop in and say hello to all my friends on here. I am sorry I haven't been around lately but I have been rather ill lately. I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in my brain stem which unfortunetly is inoperable but it caused a condition that could be corrected with a little brain surgery which I recieved a few weeks ago. My prognosis is good and I am currently being monitored by some of the best neurosurgeons and oncologists in the business so I feel pretty good about the future. I just didn't want any of you thinking I forgot about you because I didn't. You can't get rid of me that easy.I will be around.

Glad to see you back. Man, sounds like you've had a rough time of it.
So is the tumor benign? Sounds like it is, if they could make corrections 'around' it.
 
Mike, I'm glad you came back and things seem to be improving for you. Keep us posted as you are able to. Keep your positive attitude :hugs:
 
DanC, it is in a very dangerous location in my brain stem which makes it too dangerous to even biopsy it but it appears to be benign and very old son apparently it has been growing since I was a small child and just now got to the size where it is affecting me. The dr is going to monitor it through MRI and if it begins to protrude then we will begin to radiate it but that could still be months down the road. Thank you everybody for your concern and well wishes.

Quick update, went to the doctor today(Tuesday) and was told to check into the hospital for more surgery on Thursday although not as serious as the last one. Just need to make and adjustment on the valve of the shunt as it is now draining too fast. Nothing serious and the recovery time of this surgery will be much shorter than the last. Look forward to being back with you all soon.
