Yves Saint Laurent Tote New York 9/6/08 5,000 to passers-by on street

Sure to create a frenzy, Yves Saint Laurent will be handing out limited edition cotton tote bags, designed by Stefano Pilati, to the first 5,000 passers-by in New York, London, Milan, Tokyo and Hong Kong on September 6th. The promotion is to highlight Pilati’s third "Manifesto" photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, which features Naomi Campbell (you have seen the ads in every major fashion magazine lately) in the Fall/Winter 2008-2009 collection. Over half a million copies of the Manifesto will be distributed along with the totes.

If do happen to find yourself in the Big Apple this Saturday, an insider at the company told us to be on the lookout in Times Square, Bryant Park and Soho.

Too bad I'm not going to be in the city today.

too bad it on the weekend

:(:(:(
too bad it's tomorrow. My office is 5-10 minutes from both Bryant Park and Times Square. not gonna commute in from Long Island on a Saturday. especially tomorrow when Hurricane Hannah- or the dregs of Hurricane Hannah- are supposed to hit with 50 MPH winds and heavy rain. wonder if they will still do this if the weather is bad. Probably, because even in the rain, there will be plenty of people to take the bags if they divide up and pass out all over the city.
