Allure August 2011 Free Stuff

Oh, good grief. I was hoping to have my house cleaned, stained, sided, remodeled, painted and landscaped, my ironing caught up, all my filing up to date, the cars washed...and I thought I might take a shower, too, before this started. I guess it's time to get started.

Anyway, in looking over the calendar, I think I have some good news. Many days, the last giveaway is at 4 PM. The latest I saw was 5 PM. That's a lot better than 6 PM or 7 PM like they have had in the past. Looks like one random per day at noon and 101 of the "first XXX." I think it will be a bit easier this year. Now I have to go back to see if they have any soap or lip balms.

Saw 11 chances for fragrances! :) Love it!: ) and a couple of other things I hope to be able to win. Last year was a real bust for me! only got 1 item but sunbeam you're a dear..appreciate what you did for me! Hoping this year won't be as bad! :)

I'm excited about August...it's coming up so soon!

It's weird that when I go to the Allure website to click on the link to the calendar, all it does is bring me right back to the same page and not to the calendar...I tried using 3 different browsers. But the link that capricorn60 provided works. So that's good :yesnod:.

Oh, Sunni, you helped me out more! Thanks! I'm afraid to click. What's the ratio of hair products to lip balm? Pat, I can help with the ironing. I am a :piggy: after all.

glad these aren't running past 5PM EST

I am so happy this will end at 4 PM after the first nine days! Maybe I can actually get some stuff done in August besides run up and down the stairs to do the entries. Wonder if people complained or they just have fewer vendors participating this year. Clearly, there are fewer total prizes than in the past. It's all OK with me....so long as I get all the lip balms.

Another August of being tied to the computer. :) But I'm definitely happy it doesn't go on till 6 at night. And I like the later start of 1 pm for the first ### drawings.

I'll probably skip some of the hair products. I have as many hair products as Pat has lip balms. ;)

iokijo, Thank you so much for posting the daily/weekly prizes! Very helpful.

i agree that there are fewer prizes but the selection appears to be more upscale. no bobby pins, combs, chap-stick or my personal all time fave, 2 bars of dove soap. nice to see the pricey stuff like perfume again.. to be honest i rarely entered anything after 4pm anyway

The 12 PM has always been the random drawing of the day. I usually get on the computer around 12:45-12:55 to do the random one, and then I'm all warmed up for the 1 PM. I have tons of hair products also, and I really need to address that issue (maybe eBay). Just never get around to it. I only have a few lip balms that I've been using up...and I don't need big Staples boxes to store them in--just one little baggie. So clearly the hair products are a higher priority for me. But I figure whatever I do win, eventually I'll either use it, trade it or sell it, so no big deal.

For people who have extra cosmetics that they won't use and don't feel like selling or trading, you can always make a tax-deductible donation of your cosmetics to a women's shelter or other charity that helps women in need. Sometimes selling on eBay is a PITA, as you have to take a photo & upload it, write a description, etc, then package the item and hope that the buyer is happy...and you have to decide if all that time is worth the money you get for the item. So it's just a suggestion in case you don't know what to do with your extra stuff.

I just want to load up.. Need more for my stash!:) Seems my daughter loves to do the "SHOPPING" of hair products at my "STORE". LOL
She'll come here to pickup little man , say mom i'm going to the bathroom (Why she feels she has to "Announce" this I don't know), then uses the one in my Master Bedroom, comes out w/ an armful of stuff from the storage closet and say "Mom can I have this?" batting her eyes! (NOTE : Learned anything I do NOT want to have her get , like my VS mist , I put in my office inside that walk-in Closet on a shelf! LOL! Have a box in front so she has no idea what is inside!
NOTE: Not to worry Jaime doesn't read Spoofee , she has me do the freebies for her! :)

Very good suggestion. I have donated to organizations before, but it never dawned on me to donate specifically to a woman's shelter/charity. Thank you!
