This is great! Although we don't have one where I'm currently living, I made sure to tell all my friends back in Ohio! They love it!

The rain checks are for people still in line at 2 pm. It's Denny's way to take care of the people who have waited and also know where to cut off serving the slams, great deal and nice they are taking care of people still in line at 2pm. I'm going to wait untill 1 pm. and get my rain check so I can go whenever I want and not be rushed. The coupons are for anyone who sits down and eats.

Usually if anyone one has a deal like that its one per table. Does anyone know if they have that rule?

Way too cool, we have a dennys 2 blocks straight up the road, we go there every morning for breakfast before work. We live in a small town so it shouldn't be too overly busy at 6am. And most people have to work on tuesday the 3rd so most people will be out battleing traffic on the freeway trying to get the 40 miles into the city by either 8am or 9am when they all have to be at work and clocked in by ththose times. It also helps that our Dennys is open 24 hours and if me & DH and our best bud across the hall get there at 5:30- 5:45 it also helps that we all know all the waitresses really well, most of our kids go to schhool with theirs....Just an added perk!!

Took the family before school at 6:30. Only had to wait 15 minutes. Total bill for four $0.00 plus tip. Wasn't given a coupon book though and didn't know to ask for one.

Showed up at 8 or so and the line was around the building!
Not worth a 2 hour wait for a greasy egg..

Was WAY crowded this morning at 6:30am. I'm not that desperate, but may stop by later and see if I can pick up a coupon.

Went to the Denny's down the street and it was jsut packed in the Lobby. IO heard on the radio that other denny's had a line around the store.
ill try for it later.
also i havent seen denny's packed like that for 15 years. When i was like 8. it would be the place to go for dinner. Then their prices went wayy up. who remembers 1.99 grand slams? iw as more of a french slam person though.

We went at 7am...the lobby was packed but we only waited 20 minutes for a table. NOTE: Be sure to ask the manager for the coupon book. Ours finally got it ~after pretending he didn't know about it.

Ohhh what a joke that was to even go near the Denny's. We just turned around and went shopping instead. Today was my birthday and I just wanted some free food lol.

I drove past the Denny's close to me at 10:42 this morning and there was a line out the door and around the corner of the building.
If I didn't have little kids, I may have waited, but no way today!

I went with my mom this morning. There was a big crowd but they were fast. The wait was only 20 minutes and they sat us in the lounge where it was much quieter. We drank coffee while we waited for our food so our bill was $4. We had good food and good service!

Since I got downsized in mid-Dec, I had the time to kill and took the family. My oldest was in school, but my wife also home-schools two of my kids, and I have two that are not yet in school. So...6 of us went and got breakfast. I got the youngest two the special space cups ($2/each) plus sodas for the other 2 and myself, anda coffee for my wife. We also got a side of ham ($3.49, I think--Ouch!) and a side of hash browns ($.99) for a grand total of $14 and change. We rounded up to $20.
The wait was about 45 mins or so...maybe closer to an hour, but not unbearable. (I lie--we were behind 4 college-aged females, and they had a camera...so they kept taking pictures and talking about facebook. They were loud, and one of the girls said something about her 30yo boyfriend. She also bragged that at least she could buy alcohol legally, as they were talking ages, so I guess she was about 22-23. Two of the girls were under 21. In any case, they were obnoxious and annoying, but I was able to deal.)
All in all, not too bad.

Just went at 11:45 am (southern California). The line was out the door but it only took us about 10 min to get in, 10 min to be seated, and 5 min for the food to come. Very fast. They had not heard of the coupon book though. Oh well, it was definitely worth the wait.

Went to the new Denny's by us at about 6:30 am. Waited about 10 mins for a table, but by the time we left the place was packed. Our waitress was great. They seemed to be keeping up, which says a lot for the crew since they only opened yesterday. We met some friends there and had a great time, but not sure it was worth using up all my WW points for the day on one meal

Worked great for me, I walked right in and sat down and had my food literally about 5-7 minutes later and was back outta there within 20 minutes.
Well worth it for free food...I do prefer to cook myself usually, but who doesnt like to be waited on once in a while????? Right?
Now Im stuffed, and taking a pancake induced coma...

I went this morning with my mom around 7:45am. It took an hour wait for a table. When our orders came, my mom realized there was only one sausage on her plate. I flagged down a waitress and told her. Then she brought us a small dish with two sausages! She was very nice.

Thought we'd go late and maybe the rush would be over. Saint Louis, Missouri area. Got there at around 1:15PM, and there was a large crowd out the door, people pushing and shoving, chaos at the cash register inside. Wait was probably more than an hour. Not going to wait over an hour in 20-30 MPH wind at -11°F wind chill for that. Grabbed a coupon book and left. Probably won't use the coupons anyway, they aren't worth much.

I told My Mother and sister about it yesterday, since Tuesdays are their Mother daughter days. I was allowed to join them and the three of us met at the Dennys. I got our names on the waiting list and waited 10 minutes. While waiting, I asked about the coupon books and the manager said She had to go check in the office. Several other customers were talking about the coupons amongst themselves which I believe motivated the manager to break the coupons out. We sat down and had our food in about 10 minutes. Total time from door to eating was 20 minutes. Not bad. The food was good and the time spent with family was great. There was 1 coupon book per table, but my sister got an extra one at checkout because a previous customer left Hers there due to having some syrup on it. So, my Mother and sister decided to share that one and gave the other to me. The staff was very cordial and the experience was pleasant. The bill...under $8 for drinks and an extra side. Not bad for 3 adults.

I found a quarter on the ground this morning near a Denny's. Considering that's probably worth more than the actual cost of a grand slam breakfast, am I exploiting Denny's as well by not turning it in?

That doesn't really make sense. Anyway, if he somehow had the time to go to 5 Denny's in that 8 hour window, then more power to him, I guess. There's always a few people who do that sort of thing whenever there's a freebie.

This freebie was actually in the news yesterday (7 news- MSNBC in New England) because of Denny's being overwhelmed and the volumes of people lined up and their website crash from all the people visiting it.

There is a limited supply of vouchers and a limited supply of people that can be served during the time there. Thanks to your gluttony, 4 less people enjoyed the deal. Hey, if you think its ok, all the power to you, you need to live with yourself, I am just saying bragging about it is not making you look good. You exploited an act of charity. Now you are attempting to justify it by what the meal is valued at? The cost of the meal is not just the actual costs of the food.. its the cost to hire the staff, buy the equipment, pay the rent and so on..
I think you need debate 101, economics 101 and ethics 101.. you seem to be lacking in all 3.

If you are going to argue, you might want to make sure that the person with whom you are arguing has actually performed the act of which you are accusing them. The thread will now be closed.
